Glass and charcoal offer a fascinating contrast: Charcoal occurs as a black, natural “earth plant” that evokes archaic ideas of the dark depths of the past, sunken primeval forests and long-forgotten plants that we know in the form of their fossilization.
Glass stands for a technical human “invention” that has been further developed in a variety of ways. Glass protects alienates, it reflects and sharpens.
